About Me
Arleney Jane Pitts (She/Her)
Hustle to Heal Embodied Psychotherapy is the elevation from Hustle Heal Motivate- a brand that was deeply rooted in my personal survival journey. As I have grown, so has my work, shifting from hustle and grind to slowing down, and moving toward a more embodied, grounded and intentional way of healing.
While my practice has evolved, my work as a psychotherapist continues to be shaped by my lived experiences of being street-involved, houseless, criminalized, and navigating complex trauma. These experiences have deeply influenced how I see and move through the world and continues to shape how I hold this work.
From witnessing my community be targeted by policing, impacted by social policy, and devastated by overdose, these realities didn’t just surround me, they shaped and informed me.
With community support and life altering moments that changed and ultimately saved- my life. I knew I wanted to dedicate my work toward creating safer, more compassionate spaces for the communities I know intimately.
My person-centered approach is grounded in harm reduction, advocacy, and trauma-informed care, with a focus on individuals and communities often pushed to the margins—including sex workers, people with lived experience of houselessness, people who use drugs, and those impacted by the prison system.
I bring a unique combination of lived experience and professional expertise to my work, which has been recognized through multiple awards for challenging harmful drug policies and advocating for the rights of sex workers and people who use drugs.
In 2016, I completed a Master’s degree in Public Policy, Administration and Law, where my thesis, Remembering Bedford, explored the impacts of the criminalization of sex work. This research was later published in the international journal Sex Work and has been referenced in Maclean’s, NOW Magazine, and legal hearings addressing criminalization. I also hold a second Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (2025).
